Elizabeth Cody Kimmel is a widely published author of over twenty books for children and young adults. Her picture book My Penguin Osbert (Candlewick) has been translated into nine languages. Her most recent non-fiction title, National Geographic's Ladies First: 40 Daring American Women Who Were Second to None, was selected by the Washington Post as a KidsPost Book of the Week. Her Lily B. series remains perennially popular, and her picture book The Top Job (Dutton) was recently adapted as a musical in New York City. New titles include the comic novel Spin the Bottle (Dial) and the series Suddenly Supernatural (Little Brown). Elizabeth is also very proud to have written a Little House on the Prairie Book for HarperCollins and the Estate of Laura Ingalls Wilder entitled Mary Ingalls On Her Own (HarperCollins). Her biography of the Dalai Lama will be available soon. Elizabeth graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, in 1986. She lives with her husband and daughter in New York’s Hudson Valley.
